Through Qantas Frequent Flyer - Medium → We almost classify this as Hard since there is clearly more demand than availability (often very limited availability) → But it earned the Medium since it does have an decent award chart, and we have still come across some good redemption options in plenty (for example Australia to/from Japan) → Generally Qantas is somewhat notorious for being difficult to book with its own miles, especially premium cabins on long-haul routes. → We prefer to use Qantas Frequent Flyer miles for Emirates.
Through Partners - Medium → Best partner for long haul from “Top Programs” is Alaska Atmos, since they have good value mileage costs from Australia to the US. → One World Partners in general offer decent redemption availability throughout the alliance, so it is possible to find Qantas flights available through all other listed partners, but availability isn’t amazing.
