Don’t want to watch? Here’s a Summary
Once you have made a copy and bookmarked it, you will see there are 3 different Calculator Sections in the Business Class Calculator
Each of the Calculator Sections has input and output areas.
Input: These are the YELLOW Cells/Boxes that you fill in with your numbers
Output: These are the GREEN Cells/Boxes that will automatically fill, based on your inputs.
Buying Points
This is the section you fill in when you are Buying Points. Input total cost and total number of points. The output will give you the “Cost per 1000 pts”. Compare this to the Benchmark (bottom right)
Earning Points (eg. Shopping Portals)
If you’re trying to earn points by using shopping portals, you might encounter prices through the shopping portal being slightly higher. This is not always the case but sometimes. If there is a difference in price, use this calculator to make sure its worth it by checking what you are paying for the points (the difference in cost).
Redeeming / Spending Points
When you’re looking for flights with points and want to know exact prices, this is the calculator to use. Remember to fill in all the yellow fields, and all the green metrics will automatically fill.
Input Note: When filling in “Points Required”, just write the number in thousands. ie. if the flight is 80k points, just write 80, if its 40,500, write 40.5, etc.
