Booking Difficulty:
Through Korean Air Skypass Miles - Medium → We have no personal experience with booking through Korean Air Skypass. But from what we have seen online, availability isn’t consistently good (but still better than through partners). → It does offer a region-based award chart which is great (more predictable) → It also has peak and non-peak award prices, which means you can find some great sweet-spots especially in non-peak times. → The cost efficiency of points required when booking directly with SKYPASS (instead of through partners) is generally good, since it’s award chart based - many SkyTeam member’s use variable pricing instead of consistent charts.
Through Partners - Medium to Hard → It get’s a Medium for the fact that it is bookable through quite a few good programs, and we have come across availability plenty of times, but often only 1 seat. → It get’s a Hard because it’s often only 1 seat available and the availability is very inconsistent - don’t often find many dates in a row. → Pricing for the flights with different programs also varies so it’s a tricky one to lock in, even with good planning.
